Will and LPA MOT | £45 (redeemable)

Keep your Will and LPAs legally up to date (roadworthy) with one straightforward MOT.

Just like a car MOT, it’s a practical, affordable check to ensure your documents still reflect your wishes and still work in real life. Most clients use it every three to five years, or after a significant life event such as marriage, divorce, new children, moving home, or a significant financial change.

We’ll check your Will (and any Letter of Wishes) to confirm that:

  • Executors and beneficiaries are still the right people for your wishes.
  • Property ownership and family changes are correctly covered.
  • We flag any obvious inheritance-tax considerations based on what you tell us (subject to the current tax regime).
  • All originals are properly signed, witnessed, and easy to locate.

We’ll check your LPAs to confirm that:

  • All named attorneys remain suitable, available, and willing to act.
  • Replacement attorneys are correctly appointed.
  • Preferences and instructions still reflect your current views and do not create avoidable practical problems.
  • Where registered, your LPAs are registered with the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG) and you can access acceptable evidence when needed.

You’ll then receive a short written report showing one of three outcomes:

PASS

Your documents look fit for purpose and workable. We confirm the review date and suggest your next MOT interval.

ADVISORY

Your documents are broadly workable, but we flag improvements, risks, or review triggers to keep on your radar. This is often where the document is technically fine, but could be clearer, more resilient, or more practical in real life.

FAIL

Your document is no longer fit for purpose for your needs now, or is likely to cause problems when used. We explain why and outline the simplest next step. In most cases, the cleanest solution is a fresh new document that is fit for purpose for your needs now and the foreseeable future.

Price: £45 (redeemable). The £45 is credited against follow-on work where a related invoice is paid within 3 months of the MOT date.
